UniSA Sleepout

Story

Hi there,

I have decided to make a difference by creating my very own fundraising appeal for St Vincent de Paul. Through here you can easily  support my efforts by making a secure donation. I would also really appreciate it if you could share my page above or comment below so more people know about it.

I am going to be sleeping on a cardboard on that night in the cold to experience what it's like to be homeless. Through this experience, I hope to be able to build awareness on homelessness and also raise funds for this great cause at St Vincent de Paul. I really cannot imagine how the homeless people sleep outside with the weather being so bad in Adelaide throughout this winter season.

Please donate generously.

All donations over $2 are tax deductible and you will be issued with a DGR receipt via email as soon as you make a donation.

Thanks so much for your support!

    St Vincent de Paul Society (SA) Inc (Vinnies SA)

    Operating since 1884, the Society in South Australia has over 2500 members and volunteers in 64 Conferences, 34 Vinnies Centres and numerous Special Works. They work together, supported by dedicated staff, to relieve not only the immediate requirements of those in need, but to identify the deep and long-term causes leading to financial and social hardship in our community, and provide a voice for the disadvantaged.

    Each year the Society assists over 100,000 South Australians. This help is not limited to providing material goods, food and shelter, but extends to providing support, relief from loneliness and encouragement for people to help themselves. Vinnies relies largely on the generosity of donations from the public, and any surplus generated goes directly to supporting the Society’s good works, which provide a range of services to people facing disadvantage.

    Our services include;
    Conferences - Serving people in need on a one to one basis.
    Vinnies Shops - Providing quality pre-loved clothing, household goods and furniture for people in need.
    Fred’s Van - Feeding the homeless and hungry.
    Vinnies Men's Crisis Centre - Providing emergency accommodation and support to homeless men around the clock every day of the year.
    Vinnies Women's Crisis Centre - Providing emergency accommodation and support to women (and their children)  in crisis, around the clock every day of the year.
    Migrant and Refugee Committee -Welcome and help for new arrivals to South Australia.
    Overseas Partnerships and Development - A contribution to world peace and understanding.
    Amelie Housing  - Housing those in need.
