UniSA Community Sleepout 2015
Story
Hi there,
Did you know that 1 in 200 people in Australia are experiencing homelessness every night?
Here at The University of South Australia, the students and staff have decided to make a difference by creating our own fundraising appeal for raising awareness around homelessness, as well as important funds for Vinnie’s Emergency Relief and Homelessness Prevention Programs. Through here you can easily support our efforts by making a secure donation - With as little as $6 being able to provide a nutritous meal at Fred's Van, every dollar counts.
We would also really appreciate it if you could share our page above or comment below so more people know about it.
Click 'Donate' to make a secure online donation.
If you’re not financially able to make a contribution, but you do want to help, please let us know, and we will get in touch with you to let you know how you can help.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible and you will be issued with a DGR receipt via email as soon as you make a donation.
Thanks so much for your support!

Activity
St Vincent de Paul Society (SA) Inc (Vinnies SA)
Operating since 1884, the Society in South Australia has over 2500 members and volunteers in 64 Conferences, 34 Vinnies Centres and numerous Special Works. They work together, supported by dedicated staff, to relieve not only the immediate requirements of those in need, but to identify the deep and long-term causes leading to financial and social hardship in our community, and provide a voice for the disadvantaged.
Each year the Society assists over 100,000 South Australians. This help is not limited to providing material goods, food and shelter, but extends to providing support, relief from loneliness and encouragement for people to help themselves. Vinnies relies largely on the generosity of donations from the public, and any surplus generated goes directly to supporting the Society’s good works, which provide a range of services to people facing disadvantage.
Our services include;
Conferences - Serving people in need on a one to one basis.
Vinnies Shops - Providing quality pre-loved clothing, household goods and furniture for people in need.
Fred’s Van - Feeding the homeless and hungry.
Vinnies Men's Crisis Centre - Providing emergency accommodation and support to homeless men around the clock every day of the year.
Vinnies Women's Crisis Centre - Providing emergency accommodation and support to women (and their children) in crisis, around the clock every day of the year.
Migrant and Refugee Committee -Welcome and help for new arrivals to South Australia.
Overseas Partnerships and Development - A contribution to world peace and understanding.
Amelie Housing - Housing those in need.
